Rachel Dougherty Embodiment coach

As an embodiment coach, a client recently introduced me as “A modern yogi, intuitive mystic, who’s part fairy, part grounded modern woman, part loving earth Mama, with a glint in her eye that hints at her wicked sense of humor, all the while being just a little bit witchy!”

Ha.. I like it!! It points to my many facets. This is embodiment to me.

I used to negate and hide different parts of myself, and I have learned and practiced over time now, the importance of empowerment and embodiment.

I have been teaching yoga, listening to human stories, and cultivating my gifts and skills now for 21 years.

It would be my honor to help you release the shackles of the past, clear your anxiety and depression, and awaken the spark in yourself again.

This is my life’s work.

It lights me up now writing this, just thinking about it.

My journey to here.

I told my parents when I was 6 years old, that I wanted to be a ballerina in The Australian Ballet. I was certain, clear, and focused. Through many challenges, bouts of extreme self-doubt, obstacles, sweaty leotards, and blistered toes, I made it. I danced professionally for 10 years! It was truly a dream come true.

What dream can I help you realize?

I started my spiritual journey in my teens with books by Wayne Dyer, Shirley MacLaine, Deepak Chopra, Paulo Coelho, and one of my favorites, The Tibetan Book Of Living and Dying. Throughout my dance career, I practiced Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa, Raja Yoga, and Vipassana. Every spare moment I had was in developing my spiritual life, through reading, going to lectures and self-practice.

When I found Kundalini Yoga, I knew it was the practice for me immediately. It started to change me from the inside out. My nerves calmed down, my anxiety was relieved, and I started to sleep deeper and better.

Have you found practices that calm you? Support you? Let’s lay out a plan for you.

Becoming an Embodiment Coach.

I became interested in coaching when my life as I knew it exploded after just having moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Suddenly facing a divorce, becoming a single mom, and losing everything, it was coaching that helped me rise up from the ashes of my former life. This experience propelled me to help women in a deeper way and to become a coach myself. So that I, too could support women in times of transition, just as I had been helped.

My coaching training began with Byron Katie’s, The Work,  followed by coaching courses with Tony Robbins and then Martha Beck’s, Wayfinder Life Coaching course. In addition, I have completed courses specializing in Somatic Therapy, Recovering from Narcissistic Abuse, and Trauma-informed coaching.

In addition to being an embodiment coach, I am currently in the process of becoming a Women’s Health Coach through The Integrative Women’s Health Institute.

How can I support you on your embodiment and healing journey?
